trust me 1gb- to 2gb is a big differnce.

as mention in this thread you need 1.5 gb to maintain certain things on high.

i now have 2gb of ram
specs
amd64 3200 venice(nothing special)
6600gt agp
2gb ram

on karkand i get 80fps
i have geom on high ,and textures on high and rest on meduim,shaddows are off.

for a test drop everyhing you have on high to medium and see if you get better fps,if/should get better fps then its due to you having 1gb of ram.

after playing bf2 for a few hours it eats up more and more ram,having 2gb stops it from reading the hard drive every time,whitch results is stuttering and low fps.

when joing a map at the 1st weapon selection does it stutter?

power supply could be a problem too depending on how many extra drives and fans you have.

on my 6600gt box it says 350 min(min = 1 hd and 1 dvd/cdrom)

if you have lots of extra's then youre not getting enough power(just a thought)

ive doneall the tweaks in tweakpages,but heres an update

i rolledback to Xtreme-G 83.90 drivers and got like a 8fps boost and then i turned lighting to medium...got somthing like a 20 fps boost...so its like fine now but i wish/thought i could play with al lhigh settings

Be sure to clean your cache folder too

hmm i just remembered that i never cleaned out my old ati drivers (i used a ati 7000 when i first got my comp) so yeah..im gonna try cleaning those out..

EDIT: nevermind...i didnt see much of a fps gain...still getting pretty low fps

Can you tell us what setting you are running at now. If you have either textures or lighting on high that will be your problem.

low dynamic shadows

low texture filtering
100% view distance
and 1152Xsomething @75hz

i just put in my new/old sound card and i had some issues regarding my video card but i htink its fixed now..so im gonna try it cuz my cpu is prob the bottleneck and the old integrated sound prob took away some of its power

Ok, as we have told you many, many times put Textures on MEDIUM. The textures takes up a ton of RAM and 1gb is not enough for high. So put textures to mediumand your fps problems will be gone.
