which one of the AGp cards listed in BF2 manula is better quality

Im looking at getting an uprated Gpu, but unsure, i run a geforce 6400 at mo but i got to stick to AGp as not got new pci type comp, which of these is betterm the geforce 6800 ultra AGP or the Radeon X800 pro, or as anyone else got anything different that is a good card

Also whats the best amount of ram to run if i want better gameplay i already have 759 DDR

is the radeon 9600 pro a better card than the one ive got as ive seen one on ebay for £35

The best card for ATi you can get for AGP is the X850XT PE.
The best card for nVidia you can get for AGP is the 7800GS 512mb.

The 9600 is a bad card. You will be able to play on all low.

The 9600 is a bad card. You will be able to play on all low.

this about sums it up.

I used to Play Bf2 on a 9800 and i could run it in medium settings.

I recently upgraded to a 6800GS and the game looks superb!

As for which brand to get, i'm not sure which is best, both have their plus points and in the past i've had ATI and nVidia cards with no complaints about either. It might be an idea to look at benchmarks for the different cards and shop around to get the best deal.

Your theory of 512MB cards being better than 256MB is partially incorrect. The X1600 you speak of is a mid level card, and a 512MB version would be no quicker than a 256MB one, it simply cant use the extra 256MB.

Instead you should be looking at something like an X800XT PE/X850XT PE from ATI, or a 6800GS/7800GS from nVidia. Those GPUs (the processor on the card) is more important than the quantity of RAM. I.E. a 256MB X800XT PE will kick the crap out of a 512MB X1600 any day of the week.

Dunno. Writing in capitals is also pretty goddamn annoying too though.

Also, from checking, the 6400 looks like it was only ever for laptops - so either the guy has a laptop, or he just doesn't know what his graphics card is.

Thanks for the help on the cards, just I'm a bit miffed with my pc going CTD and I think its down to the GPU, and the card ive got at present is the geforce 6200, if its a laptop card then I didnt know but it works, it was just a quick fix after my fan went pop on my geforce 5700 ultra, which worked fine other than couldnt have settings any higher than medium at best.

so the X800XT is a lot better for fork my pennies out on then
