Never too soon for Christmas shopping....

What should I make my wife get me?

...Another 2 Gigs of Ram (to make 4 GB)
...Another 512MB Video card (so I can run SLI)
...An Ageia Physix processor ('Cause I don't know anybody with one, and I'll be l33t***)

***From what I understand, l33t means "Really, reallly cool"

    LOL

    4G is useless imo.

Physic card, i heard about that but i don't think games use it now, so wait till games use it and buy a better for the same money.

SLI, why not if you really want overpown comp, but if you already have a very good card it is not that necessary, wait DX10 cards.

Ok, apologize you want to spend cash and i tell wait haha.

What about a great sound card with 7.1 speakers?
Or an uber new wide flat screen?

        Agreed with Cronos.

The Physix card is an utter waste of time, only one game uses the technology so far, and its impact is neglible. 2GB more of RAM is indeed useless, and depending on what graphics card you have, another one to run SLI will offer marginal improvements.

Tell her to get you a Nintendo Wii instead.

Get another video and a better monitor.

Don't bother with the increased RAM and PhysX card at this time.

May I recommend she also do some shopping at www.thinkgeek.com ?

go with the gpu if your power supply could handle it.

I've got a 700W Power Supply, so more toys won't be a problem. Maybe I should have her save her $$. Seems to me that I'll get no real benefit from any of the things I've listed.

As soon as I get out of my apartment, then I'll go with a psycho 'uber' sound system. As it is now, I won't be able to use it anyway....

                      Id get what one of the Lcd's i have ViewSonic's 20.1" VX2025wm widscreen http://www.viewsonic.com/products/de...ries/vx2025wm/

                      Or my other ViewSonic's 19" VX924 http://www.viewsonic.com/products/de...xseries/vx924/

Both of them are well worth the money. The 19inch is actually faster but once you go widescreen ya never go back lol.
