    New graphics card

Do you think I would be better off with a 7900GT or a 7950GT my guess is the 7950 because it runs at a higher speed and has 512MB RAM (my limits about £200) btw I am not going to buy an ATI card only Nvidia

here's the specpage for the 7950GT:
    http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/s...nov-7950gt&P=1
    specpage for 7900GT:
    http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/s...l?nov-79gt&P=1

what do you think? am I right?

Wish I had the cash for a new gfx card.Dam it.
Anyways you right about the 7950GT.
I've seen the benches and it beats the 7900GT not by much though.

lol bout time you got a new card. Don't go too high spec with the gfx card as the rest of your system might not keep up. Why not go for a 7900GS for half the price.

I agree with 'oUtL@w'. O A 7900GT or a 7950GT with a Sempron 3100 and 512 MB of ram it's kind of a overkill. I would buy a 7900GS now, keep my cash, and later upgrade my entire computer with a directx 10 compliant video card...

go with the EVGA 7900gt 512 it has a higher bandwidth than the 7950gt, i can't figure it out, but the 7900gt 512 is actually a better card, though it costs 10 bucks more.

                ok I'll have a look
I'm not exactly bothered about the eVGA card 'cos I'm not after an overclocked one or one without HDCP (this things gotta last me years and years)

Are you getting anew card for Christmas? If so, I'd wait until November when DX10 comes out to look at all your choices...

I am getting a DX10 card no doubt about that, ^ that was just a little rant, my GFX cards have to be future-proof 'cos like I said before my FX5500 has lasted me ages also after I get a GFX card I need to save up for Vista why does microsoft crap cost hundreds then you have to buy loads of other crap just to sucure it a bit

seems easier just to get a cheapass graphics card to hold off till xmas or after the sales will be nice :)

i upgraded my graphics a month ago card in siggeh cost me £90, i know you dont want ati but go with a suggestion for a card that isnt using your whole budget, you will still be able to play bf2/2142 on highish settings
