Whats the best bargain you got

A friend of mine recently bought himself a new tft monitor as his was "broken" and knowing that i like to take stuff apart offered me his old one. I gratefully accepted and quickly realised that he had actually broken a couple of pins off the vga cable so i went to local pc store got a new vga cable for £3 and hey presto dual screen support for £3

BARGAIN

Anybody else got an interesting story of how they picked up a pc bargain?

Best bargain I got was ~30 bucks for my dvd/cd burner.....brand new lite-on from newegg .

I ripped off my friend! ^^

He wanted to sell some parts to me, because he would buy new stuff.

Ati Radeon 9800 Pro ~ 20 bucks
200 Gig harddrive ~ 15 bucks
512 MB RAM (333 mhz) ~ 5 bucks

So i have 2 computers now :)

Can you say Employee Discount? Get a job at Best Buy or Circuit City....there are some killer employee discounts and Manufacturer bonuses!!!! I bought a lot of components for my son's PC at very low prices while I was working at Best Buy!!!
