Graphics Card Recommendation

Well it's been posted before but not all issues are the same

My Computer Specs:
P4 2.62 ghz,
1gb ram,
120gb hd,
Geforce 5500OC 256MB.

Now, at this point in time i'm looking for a new video card as an upgrade to my computer. Right now I can barly play on low settings with the 5500OC and would like somthing that'll let me play on medium/high.

I was wondering if anybody could recommend a video card that will let me play on medium/high without much of a problem. It doesn't matter if the card is geforce/ati because i'm open to both :p. Please keep in mind I need an AGP card, and i'm looking for one no more than $200USD at this point in time.

PS* Is there anyway I can find out what chipset i'm using as I would like to upgrade my mobo without replacing the CPU so I can get a PCI-E card later on in time.

And an x850pro would probably play on all high, whereas the x800 would have to have some medium http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102606
I guess it just depends on how high of settings you want to play at, but they are both decently priced for their performance

What settings will the x800gto let me run on too?

Oh, and if it's not to much of a hassle could you guys (and girls) use www.ncix.com for the parts, i'm canadian and newegg doesn't ship to canada

Probably, but you can check really quick by running CPU-z. It says on its opening tab what Socket the CPU is.

I'm thinking either the x800xt or the x850pro, but I have to see some benches first...

so it turns out the difference is very small, so I'd just go with the x850pro

The 7600gs on PCIe will play medium-low, so no, it's not going to be better than the x800 or x850 series. The 6800xt is kinda close to the x800gto in performance, but the x800gto usually wins. But both the x850pro and x800xt are better than the x800gto. http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...anufacture=XFX is decently priced for its performance, but you will only be playing medium-high instead of all high

6800gt -> 16 pipelines and its about equal to the 6800ultra but clocked a bit slower

with that card (and my settings) i play mostly high with medium dynamic shadows/lighting which doesnt really make a diff and i get like nice 60 fps constant
