is the nvidia geforce 6800 a good graphics card?

i was wondering because im upgrading my graphics card and i want one that is very nice, but not one that costs a billion dollars. i dont want to go higher than 220.00 and that is the MAXIMUM i would likeone that is anywhere between 160.00 and 220.00. ive looked up some and the 6800 looks okay but is it good enough? also my interface is AGP. and whats the difference between the 6800 ultra 6800 gt and the 6800?

I have'nt had a Nvidia card since.. well years but back then the "ultra" was definately the better card. Yea the 6800 is supposed to be a good card but its got nothing on the new cards out. Although they are way more expensive and I dont think they support AGP anymore. :cry:

Im still using my ancient 9800pro from 4-5 years ago.

I run a 6600 and I've been pleased with it, BF2 runs fine if that's what you're running about. Make sure you don't spend too much though. =]

if u buy a 6800...u can bios flash it to make it a 6800gt but i suggest u dont since theres a nice chance u can destroy ur card if u dont kno wat ur doing, so if u do it...make sure u really know wat ur doing. id practice on an older card

the difference between the 6800 and 6800gt is that 6800 only has 12 pixel pipelines (but i thikn u can unlock them to match the 6800gt) and i think the 6800gt is clocked a bit faster

and the diff between 6800gt and 6800 ultra is really nothing...only clock speeds which is like..100mhz or something like that

Just make sure if your gonna buy the 6800s there agp compatible and have a decent amount of video memory

You could go ATI, There cards can run maxed below $160 price range for the card

I have a 6800gt and i can't play on all high settings.

I run on mostly medium, with 40fps average. The lag/deoptimization of the engine brought in with each patch has made it impossible for me to play on all high like i used to in the original version. Now i barely play on medium without stuttering and choppiness.

Dice doesn't realize that they have done this to bf2.

I have a 6800 Ultra (don't know if they even make them anymore), and it runs the game easy. The only jitters I get isn't due to anything on my end, it's due to bf2's crap netcode.

I have an ATi X800XT PE in my other computer, and it can run BF2 maxed out with all settings turned up. It even runs on my old 275w power supply, so you'd be safe where power is concerned.

6800 is a nice card. however a 7800 will allow you to run game on high settings with a respectable framw rate.

i have 68gt, its crap, i overclocked it by alot and it can barely take 4 things on high in a 16 server. dont get nvidia, get ati.

6800 ultra go here. It's run great. Well, if u dont go way high on ur settings. But yeah get 7600GT its a better choice.

x800xt = 7800 range so of course it beats the 6800
