Well I have downloaded the 64 and don't really feel like going through all of the hubbub of getting the cd key for the 32 so I guess I will try out the 64 this weekend. I will let you all know how it goes.

a key works for both versions, and you can activate it on 10 different computers at once

fixed the stutter, since vista uses more memory then xp uses, I had to set the texture in bf2 to medium.

Well through many attempts at getting the correct drivers for bf to work on vista I have finally given up. I have found only one driver that supports the 7800gt and it was from an xp64 driver set. When I try and run it the screen dumps the memory and reboots. Other than that I really like Vista. I am going to run a dual boot so my xp boot will be only for games that don't run under Vista. So I guess bf2 is hasta la Vista baby in Vista.

i do but only a few games work, after updating my vista drivers i can sit and play BF2 for hours with no problems

have you tryed the 96.33? thats what I use with no problems in bf2 and CSS, but guildwars has serious problems with them.

Ya, that is the first one that I tried. My monitor won't even light up when I use that one. The xp64 is the only driver I have been able to force feed the monitor.
Thanks for asking though. Any other suggestions would be cool if you had them.

I've installed the 64bit vertion, I had some problems running on high settings so at this point I'm running on medium settings until I upgrade my memory, I've got the windows page file on a seperate hard drive than the OS to improve performance. Also the textures are a little well, the picture below should explain. I'm upgrading my drivers to see if I can fix this problem it might be an isolated problem with the drivers I installed from nVidia.

Basic specs: AMD 3800 X2, GeIL 3200 2x 512mb Ram, MB Asus a8n32, nVidia 7600GT Leadtek 256mb.

No, I think it suggests 512mb RAM minimum.

OK guys, I need some help. I've installed Vista 64 and everything is fine. I try to play BF2, and everything is perfect except, when joining a server, I get kicked out saying Punkbuster: inadeqate OS privledges.
Also, I'm using the 96.33 drivers, can you turn on SLI in Vista?I don't see the option to do so anywhere.
nevermind. I have resolved the issues. FYI. Don't use the 96.33 drivers, the one packed with Vista are much better, go figure. In the 96.33 drivers, the Nvidia console is very limited, only some 3D setting and display configuration. You cannot enable SLI in Vista and you cannot overclock your card unless there is something I missed. That in itself is a very big disappointment, I haven't seen anywhere that they intend to change that, so I won't purchase Vista unless it supports SLI.

You have to use an iso program to extract, mount or burn to disk. I used power iso.

well BF2 is atleast 1gb-1.5gb minimum despite what the box says
