So, Im thinking about selling my laptop and I might get about 400-500 for it (maybe less) and I already have a new processor in mind and its a pentium d something. Anyways, that is about 160 so I need a new card at around 160. Preferrebly a geforce card and the best bang for the buck.

Did you already buy that Pentium D? If not, I would hold off on it :)Originally posted by minicoop503So, Im thinking about selling my laptop and I might get about 400-500 for it (maybe less) and I already have a new processor in mind and its a pentium d something. the 7600gt (or evga's 7600gts) is a nice card that will play medium/high -
Re: Need Suggestions on a video card
not all Pentium D's are crap there just a cheap offering to dual core cpus.. and most likely you comparing to Conroe or AMD x2Originally posted by knghtwhosaysniIt's just that Pentium D is so crap compared to what's out there now, I would just save the money and see if it plays decent with the 3.2ghz celeron.Comment

Re: Need Suggestions on a video card
Yea well, I can already play on all medium with my celeron and a raden x300 so I think with a good video card I could do a lot more settings on high. Also, I can only get a pentium d or another processor that has an lga 775 socket without having to buy a new mobo.Comment

Re: Need Suggestions on a video card
I don't see why you should pay a premium for the xtreme edition when you can overclock evga's without voiding the warranty. And with the G80 coming up real soon, evga's step-up program is really nice
as for the Celeron D, it's a less-powerful Pentium 4 based on the Prescott or Cedar mill core, but it is not dual-core. The Pentium D is the one that's two P4's put together, and it has higher FSB and probably more efficient architecture than the Celeron D.Comment
