SATA is so much faster than IDE.
SATA is the new generation of Hard drives, whereas IDE is rather old.Comment

At this point in time it doesnt matter much. SATA drives are only marginally faster than IDE drives. I use both SATA and IDE drives in my system and I benchmarked them, the difference is negligible. They're the same. You're inhibited by spinning platters, not the interface. IDE and SATA drives are actually the same drives with different connectors on them.Comment
