    Ordering my new computer tommorrow!

I don't know if anyone remembers me but I used to hang around here a lot. Due to a vacation and some problems on ebay I havn't got around to ordering my new computer yet but with the help of anandtech I think I finaly have something worth purchasing.

Feel free to comment on the build, do you agree, disagree, have something to say from personal experience, ect...
But I'm hard to convice when it comes to this so if I don't take your build advise don't be mad.
There is still a day to change my mind so if you think somethings wrong shout it out!

    The plan:
    a. Overclock the CPU to 2.4 GHz and the RAM to 800 MHz (that'll save a lot of money) and this board should be able to do that easily, I'm just hoping the stock cooling will hold up
    b. I don't know if anyone noticed will notice the beefy power supply but that is because I'm going to buy a DX10 card, chances are Christmas 2007 (DX10 cards are power hungry)
    c. Supposively K8L should work on AM2 motherboards and Vistsa will require more and make better use of RAM so I might upgrade those 2 things down the line or just build a new computer

    The use:
    Battlefield 2/ CS:S/ Bf2142/ ET:QW/ Crysis and a few other games
Plus the everyday emails, word, forums, homework

Everything looks good but IMHO, get these speakers: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16836116120 They're a little more but man, they sound AWESOME!

I would also upgrade your heatsink while you're at it....looking good though.

The setup is good, but the only thing I wouldnt get would be the mouse, I've tryed them Razer mice before.... they just dont contour your hand very well. Logitech FTW.

ahh man.. I'm sure they sound much better but they are over $50 more! The Logitech speakers have free shipping and in N.J. we pay tax
The free shipping realy makes the Logitech unbeatable at the price IMO, all the others cost $10-$15 for shipping

I have been considering a heatsink for a long time but all the good ones I see are pretty expensive and with such a mild overclock I'd hope I won't need to buy one but it's always an option if I have trouble with heat

Hmm, right not I'm using a dell mouse with a ball in it (never owned an optical let alone gaming mice)
I love the look of this particular Razer and the specifications like great.
Might as well atleast try it our and if I don't like it logitech it is:)

Is there anyone around here with overclocking experience particulary with some of these components
I'd like to hear if you think I could overclock to my goals (although I've already heard insane overclocks with this ram kit and motherboard)

Re: Ordering my new computer tommorrow!

          I bought this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103562 and this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835118119

I honestly plan on doing a mild overclock like you....but I think I can go pretty high (shooting for 2.4ghz).

As for the speakers, I can't blame ya...if you ever change your mind, those creative sets are very nice and worth the money.
