Integrated Graphics Problem

Hey. I just got a new Gateway laptop http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1153997317353
and the integrated graphics is supposed to be able to reach 128mb of ram. It's shared and I just upgraded the system ram to a gig but I can't get the video ram up to 128. I went into bios and tried to select the ram so I could change it but it wont let me. Do I need a bios update or is there some other setting or something? Also does anyone know where I could get a bios update for this thing?

You probably looked in the wrong area.

Don't look for ram, look for onboard VGA adapter, or something like that. Or the word integrated. When you do find it, the choiced will be 32, 64, 128 probably...that will let you know you're in the right spot.

my bro got a new comp with a intel extreme graphics accelerator with almost 256mb of ram and he could barely run cs1.6 on it

Been that marketing ploy for 20+ years "Intergrated//////..." seems to draw in the dazzled shopper drenched in a kind of a tech babble euphora.

Integrated isn't always a bad word. My friends laptop has an integrated 7800Gtx.

Yes, most integrated graphics chips are bad, however, some aren't. You just need to look and shop around for some of the better ones.
