Does old BIOS affect game performance in any way?

I logged in and it said there was an error, I sent the error report, and here's what it said:

"Problem description

Microsoft is unable to determine what specifically caused the problem you reported.

Curious.. if I update my BIOS, other than getting rid of my system crashes, will I maybe get more fps in BF2?

Probably not.

very unlikely that changing your bios will translate into more fps. on old boards, sometimes updating the bios will include a driver for the agp system bus, or as M$ told you, a new version of a bios can have better compatibility with newer processors.

maybe 1 or 2 more fps at the max but out of game ur comp will preform faster since there will probably be no compatability issues

Mostly getting new BIOS prevents system instability and crashing.
