I have a 300watt power supply, and im running a 7600gt. When i first got the card it was rare, and not its happening more and more frequently, and im starting to see artifacts now. What happens is the game will freeze, and the sound will stutter for about 15 seconds, and go back to normal. Is this the result of the card not getting enough power? Under load the GPU has temps of 65 degrees celsius.

Re: Video card not getting enough power?
i wanna say its the PSU, seeing as an off name POS. but 300W for that system is doable. so if you could put it in a friends system and see if it still artifacts that would be the best thing to do. because i dont want to tell you to go buy a new PSU when infact the card may just be bad.

Re: Video card not getting enough power?
Wish i had some friends into computers as much as me. I dont think its the card, because my 3dmark scores seem to be on par with others with around the same specs. I just updated my temps under load, do those seem too high?Originally posted by tw33k2514i wanna say its the PSU, seeing as an off name POS. but 300W for that system is doable. so if you could put it in a friends system and see if it still artifacts that would be the best thing to do. because i dont want to tell you to go buy a new PSU when infact the card may just be bad.

well then id just get a new PSU. i mean ya need it anyway so why not. then if the cared is still acting up just RMA it. as for temps no 65C is not to hot for load temp. thats about what my 7800GT's do also. and my old 6600GT would load as high as 80C

Re: Video card not getting enough power?
So the 7600gt can actually run on a 300 watt psu? I'm thinking of buying one, and my psu is 300 watts as well. I've got a 3800+, 4x512 Ram and one 250 gb hdd and one optical drive. Should that be fine?

Re: Video card not getting enough power?
a 300 w will not support all that
if u got like 70$ go out and buy a 500w antec
that way u got a good name brand psu that will let you add something more if u want
