Will BF 2 run smoothly on my system?

I am thinking about buying it today. I love CS and I like CS Source. I get 100 fps in CS and about 30-40 in CS Source.

My system specs are:


AMD Athlon 2000 XP

1 Gig RAM

GeForce FX 5700



will these be sufficient to run the game competively? Is it possible to lower the settings to maximize game performance with my system?

So should I buy it or am I gonna have crap FPS and not be able to hang with the other players (get owned)

Erm on low settings should be fine, but you might want to think about upgrading that cpu and graphics card. Ive got a gig of ram like you, but a 3200+ xp cpu and a 6800xt graphics card and i can only just play it on medium with a decent fps.

Yeah more Graphics and CPU... I have a an Intel 3.2 GHz OC'd to 3.45 and an XFX 6800 XT OC 256MB PCI-X card. I used to have a 5950 and I noticed a huge difference in performance when I upgraded my video card.

i have played the game on fx5700 now i have a nx6200..i didn't encounter any probs while playing on fx5700..but for max performance..u still need a max configuration..
