I have questions graphics and monitors

I was wondering what would get me the best graphics in game. I have 3 monitors and don't know if swaping one for another would help me get off the lowest graphics settings for BF2 and BF2142.

    My Rig.

AMD Athlon XP 2600 1.91 GHz
    1.5 Ram
    Nvidia Geforce Fx 5600

The one that I am using right now is a Polyview V293 - Flat screen. But I also have a 17 inch CRT and a 17 inch Muiltiscan. Is one of those better then the other? Or is it all in the video card?

I would say that the performance of the game is from the CPU, RAM and GPU. Not the monitor. I say use the biggest one you have and keep the resolution fairly low.

I have it set on the lowest resolution and settings right now and still get bad graphic lag while playing. Bummer I was hoping that there was a simple fix.

Umm you could overclock your video card, defrag your hard drive and end processes before you started up bf2 to get some better graphics. And a adaware/spyware scanner

Any walk threws on doing the video card? I defrag my drive about once a month right now. How do I end all the processes that are junk? I don't use my home computer for anything other then games, but I might try adaware just to see if any thing comes up. I run spybot once a month when I defrag.

to end unnecessary processes, you hit ctrl-alt-del, then go into the task manager, click on processes, and end those that aren't required by the system to function (usually the ones that have your computer logon annotated). you should also close any and all programs in the system tray (you can disable them at start up by clicking start, run, then typing msconfig, and turning off all the programs unnecessary programs (usually everything besides windows-specific apps).

oh, and if you used cash, then your computer has been paid off for just under two years.

I will give that a try tonight.

The 2600 is fine, its that FX5600 thats the real dog there, its probably the bare minimum you would want to run BF2. Graphics cards get outdated very quickly. I'd save up for an upgrade.
