    New PC and BF2...

Okay so I finally built my PC and I just wanted some people to know that it is absolutely amazing!

Asus A8N ai Series SLi Motherboard
2GB Corsair XMS Duel Channel PC3500 RAM
    AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (socket 939)
    Antec P180 MidTower (black)
Antec 550w true power (power supply)
    EVGA GeForce7600GT (554 core)

I didn't even bother to get a 2nd GPU for SLi yet and let me tell you. I think it's just a combination of everything, but so far BF2 is on the highest possible settings with 4xAA and I never drop below 60FPS. The same case with 2142 beta. Every setting on maxium with 4xAA and never below 50fps. I'm not sure if anyone has tried the Company of Heroes Beta yet, but that game can be pretty graphically intense (has ultra settings on graphics options). And I have that game also maxed out w/ 4xAA.

I guess bottom line is with just these parts so far there has been no game that I can't run on max. So if anyone is interested in upgrading, I would recommend this configuration.

Aside from the CTDs w/ 1.3, the game has been running perfect; and the machine is so fast that when it does CTD, it's instant. There is no lag between the CTD or even if you want to Alt+Tab.

However, with DX10 cards around the corner, I'm not so sure some people can afford the upgrade. I personally will wait a while after DX10 is out to even think about upgrading.

    Game on!

Yeah, I can't get max on Oblivion, my buddy can - but yeah, I don't have much time right now to get back into Oblivion anyway, but when I do, be sure that I'll be picking up my 2nd gpu.

Thanks! I'm pretty excited myself but I started college last week and I really haven't had much time to play games now. Irony eh?

Does anyone else know any other pretty good games that would take full advantage of my rig? I've been sort of out of the loop being sucked into BF2 that I haven't really checked for much else.

Oblivion is a great game, I just wish they had more voice actors.

I have somehow the same system as you, believe me, the 7600GT was the right choice!
