In the last month or so my pings have jumped from an average of 50 to an average of 300-400.I thought it was my modem,so i got a brand new one from my ISP,no change.I look to see if anything is using bandwidth-nothing.I go to speakeasy.net and check my DL rate.Its 2.66M in dallas(i live in louisiana)and 1.68 in seattle.Has anyone else's ping gone up in the last month?

maybe the server you play on has moved (further away)?? have you tried different servers? -

These are the same servers i normally play on.Even my clans server boots me for a high ping.I dont have any wireless or routers.Just cable modem into my comp...I just noticed there was a few recent post about this also.Comment

maybe check with your SP...i'm in the process of changing from 2MB to 8MB ADSL and my provider pointed out that depending on how far somebody is away from the next telephone exchange they might enable a protocol (to make data transfer more reliable) which leads to an additional 40ms delay. It is possible to ask the ISP to switch this protocol off as for gamers this isn't really great.
