CPU temp

i just put together my new rig, but i dont have win xp yet (on its way from newegg) so i can just go into bios and change the settings... anyways i was looking at the hardware monitor, and my cpu's temp is always in the mid 40's (celcius). i know that this temp is not dangerous but looking at all of the reviews, most people have it in the low to mid 30's

ive tried lowering the voltage to the processor which was on auto giving it 1.42v to 1.35v but nothing has worked yet...

any suggestions

so ur idling @ mid 40's? if u are i would look for aftermarket cooling, but when u get xp. download Everest Ultimate Edition. for monitoring ur temps(has everything).

everest reports my cpu temp @ 47C & motherboard of 37C thats with a AMD X2 4200+ and im not concerned.

nothing wrong with 40's. nothing wrong with 50's. nothing wrong with mid-60's.

anything consistently above 68C MAY need some tlc--thermal paste may need to be reapplied, HSF may be defective, temperature sensor may have gone dead, etc.

in short, your temps are fine. if you want to overclock, then you may need more fans, more vents, or some better cabling.
