I was wondering if I swapped out my celeron d 3.2 ghz for something like a pentium 4 3 ghz would I see a huge difference in speed? I don't want to spend 90 bucks and for it not to be much of a difference.

if your talking about an in game performance with battlefield 2, then most likley no, if you want a increase i definatley suggest upgrading your vid card -

Well for me, my video card works ok. I can run it on all medium withouth lag so I'm set for a while. But, when I meant a difference, would the computer be faster at other things?Comment

Very minimaly, barely noticible. If you want an overall increase in how ALL games run, upgrade your video card to something like a 7600gt, or gs if your agp. It won't make browsing the web faster, or make microsoft word run any better, but the new cpu won't eathierComment

The x300 isnt really that bad. Just because it isnt the best card out there doesnt mean it sucks. I never get lag and the graphics are really good.Comment

Well, if you've never seen better then yeah, it'll be fine for you, but when your playing on a wide screen monitor, with surround sound with every setting to it's max, tell me you'd think your current setup is great and you don't want an upgrade.Comment

for gaming, yeah. you need a better gpu.
to make your rig rock (on a budget) suggest you get one of these gpu's (x850xt $119):
and (if you're are really going to upgrad your processor) spend another $40 ($137, free shipping) and get a tremendously better dual core processor:

I dont think my mobo can support dual core. I know that it can support a p4 with ht up to 3.8 ghz but not dual core
Edit- Just checked and it does support dual core. So idk, its either video card or cpu for christmas...Comment
