    Need help please

    Hey

I installed BF2 on my computer with no problem, but then when i went to start it, it went to start and then my computer went to a black screen like it was going to start. Then the application just... stopped running and returned me back to the desktop...

I dno what's wrong with it, if I don't have the right system requirements or what. But if someone could tell me how to check and what to do if i don't have the right ones or just any ideas on how to fix it, then i'd really appreciate it. Sorry, i'm a complete idiot.

          Re: Need help please

          Two things,

          1. You only have 512 mb of ram. While BF2 will run on 512 mb, it will be very choppy (even with everything on low)

          2. This is the big one, you have good old Intel Craptacular graphics which is not supported by BF2 at all. That is why the game won't start/run for you.

You need at least an ATI 8500 or Nvidia FX5700 (will run on a 5200), these are the bare minimum cards supported by BF2.

Hate to say it, but it looks like you missed reading the games minimum requirements,

              Re: Need help please

You can certainly upgrade your ram and video card very easily, but you would probably break your warranty if you open the case. How much would you be willing to spend on an upgrade? And I didn't see a motherboard model in the specs you listed, so we'll need that.

Look for CPU-z on google, download it, and tell us what it says under Mainboard Model.

edit: After looking up your HP model, it seems you have the 845GV chipset, which means you do not have an AGP or a PCIe slot, which means no video cards foryou

If it comes up that the slot you have is Pci-e, your in luck, you've got some good choices of video cards. If you want the best performance vs price card, the eVga 7600GT KO will do nicely. Cheap, around 160$ US, needs only a 350watt Power supply, and is really easy to install, as is ram, so in no time you'll be playing games
