    can someone say paranoid.. (jk)

well using ad-aware & spybot together isnt recommended as they both detect eachothers programs with spyware in them, ive been using Windows Defender for a while and never had much trouble, it catchs all that gets past my router

I use panda ( www.pandasoftware.com ) and it works pretty well, although it's only a 90 day evaluation period, it's worth a look.

1-for spyware use this online scanner

2-for trojan use this free software https://europe.f-secure.com/exclude/...ht/index.shtml

3-for viruses use this online scanner
Download Kaspersky free or trial version products and protect yourself against latest cyber attacks and threats. Get ultimate virus protection with Kaspersky cyber security software.

or if u want to try trail version with full updates for 30 days use NOD32

Actually that is incorrect. I haven't seen a spyware/adware help forum yet that has ever said that. If you search on the Spybot forums, you will find that even they recommend using both.

I do agree with the paranoid bit though.

And it really isn't too hard to configure IE and/or Firefox so that next to nothing gets through (except for the occasional traqcking cookie, and those are harmless anyway). The biggest way to protect yourself is called common sense and safe surfing.

BTW it is also a very good idea to clean out both the Temp and Temp Internet folders before scanning, you would be amazed at how little will be found then.

Been using both for a couple of years now with no problems, and no problems reported from anyone that I have installed both on.

Paranoid? You call him paranoid? I've got Firfox running with a bunch of adware/spyware protection, I run Spybot and Ad-Aware, Spyware Blaster, Spyware Guard, Peerguardian, Avast! antivirus, and the "Safety.Net" firewall.

For a while, I also ran ID-Blaster Plus to change the ID numbers in windows apps to prevent tracking. Of course, I had to write down all the numbers so I that I'd be able to update the program.

                Who's paranoid now, eh?

If you're looking for something more, go to http://www.javacoolsoftware.com and get the Spyware Blaster and Spyware Guard that I mentioned in my previous post. Those aren't trialware. 100% freeware.

If you want to go trying different spyware/adware removal programs, would be a good idea to start here,

                        before installing anything.

AVG Free + Windows Defender + Windows Firewall = no problems ever for me.

AVG and Windows Defender scans always come up clean.

Then again, i dont really go to any "shady" websites where I might become infected with junk. Here, IGN, Hotmail, Ebay, and school website are only places I ever really go.
