im about to put in all my new components to my computer, but i have 1 last question... everything im using is new except for my hard drive (i took it out of my old gateway- 160GB SATA).
before i gave up on my old computer, i put in the restore disk, that came with it which reinstalls drivers and im pretty sure win XP, if i go into the bios after the first power on and make the primary boot device the DVD drive, then will i not have to worry about it trying to boot off that drive and going through all that trouble with me reinstalling it because of the different hardware?
the only reason i ask, is because i cant get windows until the end of this week or beginning of next ($20 short )
EDIT: can i boot the comp with out the hard drive until i get XP then put it in right before i boot it the time im going to install it? that would be so much easier...
