    New Video Card

    I'm upgrading my old 6800 128mb to the 7800GS 256MB

What my question is, would me be getting a new video card actualy help run BF2 a lot better? Can I run it on higher or maxed out settings? With these settings, I can run the game smoothly on a 32 man:

    .

I'm not sure what processesor I have... but I do know it's the best I can get with my current motherboard. I also only have 1gb of ram.

Any help at all would be awesome. I'm sick and tired of playing with anti-aliasing turned off haha. The jagged edges sickens me :/

Is your motherboard agp or PCI

or do you just not know anything about your computer?

      It's agp

Actualy, it might not be the best processor, but it's the best in my price range. I believe it's a AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3500+ i think maybe my motherboard is like an nforce 3.. can't remember.. as you can tell, don't have the computer smarts

        Re: New Video Card

I have a 7800 GT and 1GB. I can fun full graphics smoothly, but with only 1GB there is a lot of hard disk swapping, and for about the first minute of playing a map you get pauses and studders as it's swapping data. If you plan on flying, as you fly to new terrain you run the risk of the pauses and studders. Thus, you will likely crash often.

        The moral of the story:
        Get yourself another gig.
