    Big List of Questions

    Ok so im wondering hopefully from people who have these parts or know info on them enough to give a nice oppinion of facts.
    ================================================== =
    First off lets start with the Processor:

    AMD AM2/X2 or Intel Conroe?

    Amd AM2 5000 X2 or the Amd 4800 X2?

    What is better the Conroe chips or the new AMD chips, gaming wise.
    ================================================== ==
    Is their much point in the PhysX cards?
    ================================================== ==
    For graphics cards Nvidia or ATI? talking in the top of the range.

    For Nvidia which is the best card gaming wise, 7900GTX 512MB or the 7950GX2 1024MB?
    ================================================== ==
    Are 10,000RPM Raptors are better than 7200RPM HD's? why are they better what is the benefit etc.
    ================================================== ==
    What is the best Memory for say 280-300 dollars? or 150 sterling or push it a lil higher depending if its really worth it.
    ================================================== ==
    Best Motherboard for PCI-E, best AMD or Intel one depending on what you selected for processor. Must be SLI or Crossfire depending on which GFX card you suggested.
    ================================================== ==
    Best Power Supply, most efficent and effective?
    ================================================== ==
    Is the XFI-fatl1ty soundcard good? if you choose other then suggest a very good soundcard at a nice price.
    ================================================== ==
    Is watercooling worth it? or just stick with ordinary cooling?
    ================================================== ==
    Best case for easy access, doesn't take dust in, stays cool, looks cool. Thought the Tsunami looked good.
    ================================================== ==
    For Mice what is the benefit of having 1600 or 2000 dpi mice? benefits etc.

    Re: Big List of Questions

    wow, cant answer all of them, but
    i like amd x2's and if you did get that go w/ 5000 not 4800 (4800=socket 939)
    for gaming conroe would prob be better, it benefits from the extra cache they have.

    physx = crap dont waste your time, in the future maybe but not now. i can provide u video to prove its total waste of $$
    ===
    7950gx2 fastest you can pretty much get right now really (you could go quad!), but if u can wait 1or2 months i get a dx10 card. 7950 = 2 7900gtx cards basically if they had slightly lower core and mem mhz. not to mention 7950gx2 and quad sli really help if you got widescreen monitor that can do 1900x resolution otherwise if you got 17" that maxes out @ 1280x1024 its kinda of a waste.
    ===
    i have raptor 74gb, its nice and its fast! 10,000rpm gives you nice burst rate and very good access and seek times. i notice loading and installing is must quicker. esp when installing windows
    ===
    each have their own opinion i like corsair though. but ddr2 is alot more $$ then ddr so if you get top of the line your looking at 300 bucks easily for 2gb
    ===
    for amd mobo i'd get asus or dfi probably i have a8n32-sli (939) and i like it. for conroe i dont know
    and id probably go w/ nforce 5 board
    ===
    dunno about psu
    i saw that they got a 1000w psu
    ===
    dunno about snd card
    ===
    water cooling is good if you want nearly silent pc and want to oc the heck out of a cpu its good, but dont get kits they suck custom built wc setups are best and can be upgradeable.
    ===
    depends if you want full or mid tower i like my antec p180 its pretty solid and quite case, case really depends on your taste and what will work w/ your room. i dont need flashy neon lights and clear side panels p180 has mesh things infront of intake fans to keep dust out and easy for cleaning dont know if that helps
    ===
    dont know about mouse

    good luck! let us know what u decide

        Re: Big List of Questions

        Processor - I would go with the most modern setup, I have built a Intel Conroe 6300 system for my mate and was quite impressed with it.

        Gaming benchmark showing effect of CPU, its in dutch but the chart shows it all. The test setup used a 6800GT.
        Alles over computerhardware en consumentenelektronica: 6.384 reviews, 485.170 producten, 65.549 nieuwsberichten, prijsvergelijking met 147 shops.

        PhysX cards - currently a waste of money. Their performance does not warrant the high price.

        Graphics card - Personally I would go with NVidia, generally BF2 (and looking forward to 2142) has had less problem with the GeForce drivers. I remember many time people posting of ATI driver problems. Also I would go with the 7900GTX, cheaper and currently performs around the same in real game situations (not 3Dmark).

        Raptor? - I like my 150GB raptor. Its quiet and loads games fast! But you literally pay the price, dam expensive.

        RAM - For under £150 you are looking at something like the Corsair 2GB DDR2 Value Select PC5300 Dual Channel Kit £129.19 from overclockers. If possible try to squeeze some more money out of your budget for some quality RAM, it makes all the difference.

        MOBO - If you do go conroe, the DFI Infinity 975X (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard is deffenetly worth a look.

        PSU - Im a big fan of Enermax, the Liberty series is good. Its modular and performs very well (12V @ 12.03 during gaming)

        Cooling - You should only get water cooling if you plan to to some major overclocking, or go silent Decent water cooing is expensive best to spend your money on quality PC components first. The are some really goood air coolers out there (Zalman Areo flower for example), these are good enough to run alsmost silent and allow a decent overclock.
