Can't uninstall anything, need help

Whenever i try to uninstall any of my games the uninstaller just closes and nothing happens. The initial loading bar normally gets about this far

but then the window just disappears and nothing happens.

I've tried renaming the the installshield folder in C:/Program Files/Common Files but it does nothing.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Have you made sure the anti virus is off (as these may interfear). Just try basic house keeping.

When did this all start?

Sounds like a virus. Clean your system out.

I'm not sure exactly when it started, but i did a system restore to when i last uninstalled something and it still wouldn't work. And i've done a stupid amount of virus scanning to no avail.

I had a problem like this recently, I also couldn't download or change my security settings anymore. I asked and asked and I eventually had to reformatt for the first time which was nerve wracking but my pc works wonderfully again and now I know how to do it so I'm not worried anymore.

Virus scan with Stinger in SAFE mode.
