These cards are both priced at roughly the same price, which ones better? Some people said that the 1GB card doesn't utilize the full 1GB.

I think u should get a decent card such as x1900xt and wait for DX10 to release instead of buying an expensive card that does not support DX10, my thoughts your free,do whatever you want. -

Doesn't the 7950 series still have driver issues that nVidia hasn't resolved?
Just on a practical note, when you smoosh two 7900's together and call it a 7950, you have twice as many moving parts and twice as much silicon, and you are inviting twice as many opportunites for graphics glitches that ruin your gameplay, though that's not so much of an issue if you get one with a lifetime warranty (edit: and are willing to play the "RMA/our tech can't duplicate/shipping fees/have you tried rolling back drivers" merry go'round with customer "service"). That doesn't take into effect peripheral factors such as the extra draw from the PSU, increased heat, and better/faster/more fans (probably running full tilt at 12v).
Going with good, stable, fast single card solution may save you some hassle later on, and you won't have to worry about having spent the farm on what will be a "legacy" dx9 card in just a few months.

I believe the 7950 has no problems whatsoever, now if you want to sli two of them, some what, as the drivers are not mature, then it is called quad-sli. But when running a single one is like running SLI. Also you have to make sure your chipset and mobo will allow you to run the 7950, i know most sli mobo's will, and some intel mobos will too.

i heard it wont be another year to year and a half before games are fully dx10 anyways so if you got the money to burn why the hell not. and if u get a evga they do a step up program. you get 90 days incase something better comes out (dx10 card) and then u just pay the diff if there is any...Comment
