Re: Video Card Help
Read this thread http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=89559 or report in there; but it has all been discussed and the best prices for power shown in there.
In short yes buy the card.

Re: Video Card Help
I have one of those cards, theyre great, never had any issues running any game. Check these guys out if you want one cheap:
I know its eBay, but if you keep tabs on his auctions for an X800XT PE, you can pick one up for the starting bid price ($145) if you are patient for a day or so.

Re: Video Card Help
Unfortunately, if you're buying an agp video card, you're going to get nailed going with ATI right now.
I'm happy with my x800xt AIW, but if you can't stand ebay then it might be worth it to check into this 7600gs:
Buy EVGA GeForce 7600GS 512MB GDDR2 PCI Express x16 SLI Support Video Card 512-P2-N548-TX with fast shipping and top-rated customer service. Once you know, you Newegg!
or a 7800gs if you have the dough:
Buy EVGA GeForce 7800GS 256MB GDDR3 AGP 4X/8X Video Card 256-A8-N505-AX with fast shipping and top-rated customer service. Once you know, you Newegg!
Somebody please prove me wrong, but ATI's decent agp solutions are all either underpowered (x1600pro) or too expensive to justify the upgrade (x800xt)...whoa...wait a sec..if Newegg gets this one back in stock (with the -$91 instant savings), I'd get it...
Buy ATI All-In-Wonder X800 XT 100-714200 Radeon X800XT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 AGP 4X/8X Video Card with fast shipping and top-rated customer service. Once you know, you Newegg!
500/1000mhz core/mem; 256-bit memory interface; 256mb gddr3; and 16 pipelines...that's my card, and $100 less than I paid for it a year and a half ago.

Re: Video Card Help
oops. i linked to a 7600gs pci-e card. here is the correct link to the agp version:
Buy EVGA GeForce 7600GS 256MB GDDR2 AGP 4X/8X Video Card 256-A8-N542-AX with fast shipping and top-rated customer service. Once you know, you Newegg!
any card that says "agp" will work in your motherboard. you MAY need a better PSU for a performance card, but I doubt it. what is your current PSU?
edit: here are the rest of the agp 7600gs on Newegg

Re: Video Card Help
i wouldn't wait. i'd buy it now ^^^^. i've got this card, and it's a very, very good AGP card for bf2. The price is finally right, too. plus, you can record movies onto your computer from your cable t.v. with it (like TiVO, only free) can impress people by burning their 8mm/vhs home movies to dvd (that's how i sold buying a $279 card to the wifey), listen/record FM radio with it...etc.
a really great card!
