some mediums/lows, the only good high end X1K ATI cards are the X1800's and X1900's, but the X800's are real good too for a low price ($100's)

All medium at 1024 * 768, VD 100% 2x AA. Should have gone the extra step for a 7600GT.

x800xt or x850xt would've been a better choice.

as stated x1800 and x1900 or the next real "upgrades" from the x800 and x850 series.

if you're stuck with agp, x1600pro is cost-effective but a 7800gs or a 7600gs would've made your eye candy happier.

Here it goes..
I upgraded from an AIW 9800 Pro => x1600 Pro 512mb => traded it in for a Sapphire x800 GTO .

The x800 GTO on newegg.com was basically the same price as the x1600 pro but with a little more horsepower and some upgrade bits.

X1600 could run perfectly with almost maxed out settings and I was still slaughtering many enemies. It is a good card and keep it if you dont have to do restocking fee or dont mind going with medium settings.

Maybe keep this thread going on the video card discusson.
