    Instaling windows on for a Conroe ,,please please help /

    Tomorrow i have the following arriving :

    Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Retail (CP-128-IN)

    Asus P5B Deluxe WiFi (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard (MB-150-AS)

    Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-6400C4 TwinX (2x1GB) (MY-108-CS)

    Thermaltake VC3000SWA Armour Jr SuperMidi Tower - Silver (CA-038-TT

    With a 7900GTX to play it on

    I am building it myself and have never built a rigg before .

    I am not sacred of bolting anything together but software is an other issue .

    I want to use my Barracuda H/D and have never installed a fresh copy of windows on a hard drive . I have backed everything up but would like the hard drive fully formatted before i fitt it in the new rigg .

    Can i format it in my current rigg so i can have a fresh start ? If so how would i do it ??

    When you boot from the Windows Install CD it will let you format the hard drive outside the OS.

        just follow the steps when you boot off the cd its super easy....

          Oh be sure you make it boot from the CD by changing it in the BIOS settings, just in case you didnt know how to do that.

              lol you go into the BIOS by pressing delete when your system boots up then, i think you go to BIOS Settings then Boot Sequence, then change the first one to CD-Rom, Then when you boot your computer it may boot straight to the XP disc or you may see a message saying Press Any Key to Boot From CD
