so far on startup I have

NvCpl
NvMcTray
avgcc

Processlibrary is telling me that NvCpl should be disabled due to it most likely being a virus.

I was just wondering what you guys think about NvCpl, NvMcTray and avgcc (Im keeping avgcc as it is AVG anti virus)

Is it safe to disable both nv's?

You can go without the nv's if you really want to. According to startup manager, nvcpl.dll "Intializes the clock and memory settings on nVidia based graphics cards. Disable if you overclock your card," but I don't know if that's accurate. NvMcTray is one of the .dll's used to put the nvidia icon in your system tray, which I actually think is pretty useful for changing graphics settings.

I used to use the one in the sys tray, But it doesnt show temperature and I like the interface of the one when you right click on desktop > properties > Settings > Advanced > Gefore 7800GT.

So I can safely delete the McTray and the Cpl, Lets say something screws up and I need to enable them will they still be there?

wat do u mean delete? like uncheck them from msconfig? if so, then yea theyll be there

btw i have a feeling that NvCpl is needed, but the McTray and Nview things can be disabled

I remove all of the nvidia entries in my registry under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run

You don't NEED any of them...

If you overclock or use nView, then yeah, you'll need them. Otherwise, no.

I also disable the nVidia driver helper service.

whats nView? Is it the system tray? If so im disabling both since I dont use it like I said I use the settings > advanced and I dont/never will overclock.
