i wanted to buy a new processor it is a amd athlon 64 3800x2(2.4ghz) does this mean i am really playing with 4.8 ghz? worth buying?

No, you are really not playing with 4.8 GHz, and certainly not with BF2 because it does not support dual core.

Sure, it's worth buying because you'll be getting performance equal to or better than an Intel 3.8 Ghz....but you probably shouldn't buy it unless you have a USE for a dual core processor right now...the performance increase from your current CPU might not be very noticeable.

No not just AMD's. BF2 doesnt utilise the second processor in dual core. So it would run as fast as a single core processor.

I always do , but I was really looking forward to experiencing the C2D in BF2...but this new system I'm building is 20x better than this 4 yr old piece of shat, so it's all good...maybe they'll make a fix or soemthing in the future:hmm: ...hopefully

I don't think we'll see native dual core support even in BF2142...it'll never happen for BF2.

Good thing just setting the core affinity to one core seems to work just fine.

Future games like Crysis will REALLY take advantage of dual core I'm sure.
