  • connecting to http://192.168.1.1 for server

I'm trying to make an online server. i have to open certain ports to make an online server. i know that i can open ports in my firewall, but then i would have to enter each port one by one. I'd rathar open my ports with my router.

I went to http://192.168.1.1 so i can open ports from my router.
It says: Enter username and password for "Linksys WRT55AG" at http://192.168.1.1

My type of router (Linksys WRT55AG) dosent have a username, but the password is admin. i type in the password and press enter and my internet browser just goes back to the log in screen. nothing happens. i tried this with Internet Explorer, Firefox, nothing.

    how can i fix this?

Try entering both username and password as admin...

If that doesn't work, you could try restting your router...there is a little tiny inlaid button that you'll probably need a straightened paper clip to use. Mine is on the front of my router.

By holding that tiny little button in until the red DIAG button goes on and then off again (can take quite a few seconds), you'll return your router to the factory defaults. Then you can consult your manual about how to access the web interface and try the password again.

No problem. Sometimes little settings get changed/screwed up or forgotten
