Ive heard that if you have a 1 gb stick and a 512mb stick and u use them at the same time, then the speed would be slower than it would be with the 1 gb stick. Is this true? if it is, would the extra memory be worth the decreased speed in BF2?

you wouldnt notice it really. They always run to the slowest stick in the machine. As long as its the same type say PC 3200 then they should work fine without any loss in performance! -

Depending on your mobo, it may be best for you to get another matching 1Gb stick instead of the 512MB. The reason for this is you might be able to run your memory in dual channel.Comment

the mobo does not support dual channel. the 512mb stick is pc2700 and the 1 gig stick is pc3200. Would the diffrence in speed be noticable?Comment
