Hi all!
I'm new to the BF2 community as I only purchased the game a few weeks ago. I bought new components for my pc but BF2 still only runs at around 25-30 fps.
Please can someone advise me on what to do to improve them?
My specs are as follows:
AMD Athlon 2400+ (2.0GHz)
1Gb DDR PC3200 CL 2.5 RAM
XFX Geforce 7800GS
I run it at 1024x768 with all settings on low, effects on high, no AA and 100% view distance (I tried it with 50%..........O.M.G.
lol) I also turn off ALL other applications (except firewall)
I have read other threads similar to this one and there are people out there who get 50+ fps on lower spec computers. How?!
Will getting a faster proccessor make the game better?
A friend of mine suggested upgrading to 2Gb of RAM and that I would see a huge improvement in the fps.
The other thing is background proccesses - I know that closing down unneccessary ones can speed up the game, but when I went to close them down, it warned me that closing them down can cause crashes or loss of data :|:
So I left them alone. If someone could tell me which ones I can close and which ones I can't, that would be very helpful.
Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated
Thank-you very much in advance
