And you reinstalled some ATI drivers? From your first picture it looks as if Direct X really doesnt like something about your drivers.

Its a long story:
1. reformatted HD
2. Installed latest drivers AFTER updating computer and DX
3. 6.7 drivers caused my computer to crash on 7 startups after installing drivers Or froze and i turned it off
4. I installed the 5.10 Drivers cause they are the latest drivers that dont have support for the X1000 series
5. my computer crashes with 5.10 when extremely on the edge with stranious effects
6. request help from ATI
7. do what they said and it got me here

How long had your PC been working ok before all this?

Sounds like there could almost be an issue with Windows, or maybe the card itself, as you've installed 2 different drivers and both give you issues. You dont have access to another card temporarily?

Before its worked for 8 months NO problem, no Crash, no nothing

I dont know, i jsut used some Seanix Windows SP2 CD that came with my Computer. so yeah, the bad part is that ive lost the CD that came with the Card. but im 99% sure it was once of the 5.X drivers on the CD.

Yes i do have another card handy but id call it antique NVidia FX5500

Hmm. Too bad its not another ATI card, that way you could rule out your X800 being the cause of the issues and not your windows install or anything else.

You dont happen to have another machine to try your X800 on?

I do but it completely different

its a 4 year old pentium 3 server with no soundcard and a barely operating Ethernet port

would it work if i just TRY and see is any other drivers might work IE start from 5.10 and work my way down

ATI has a tutorial of how to install new software. there they use pictures and with the pictures they are installing the 5.8 version. would this mean that the 5.8 version is the best for the RADOEN series? not 6.7?

If your server thingee has an AGP slot I'd chuck your X800 there just for testing purposes. Like say install the drivers, install 3Dmark 2001 and see if it runs, if thats the case, then its something wrong with either the Windows install on your other machine or the machine itself.

No i checked it doesnt have it.

and my card is an X850 if there is any difference

one thing, what is the difference betwen the ATI Catalist and Control Panel?

Nah it just means that was the current driver when they made the tutorial.

Ah, bummer.

X800/X850 doesnt matter, theyre a pretty similar card.

Ati Catalyst is the actual driver, control panel is the software you use to change settings and stuff on it.

One thing I forgot to get you to try, download the driver only, and not the whole package:

Well i have installed the 5.8 Package for General stability and the Direct 3D is now enabled.

say you dont think that i could keep the 5.8 package but ONLY update the 6.7 Driver not the whole pack


EDIT: I have come to the conclusion that it is the 6.7 Driver that is the problem and that doesnt work with DX
