another ram question

hi if i add another 512mb to 1.5 gigs of ram will it improve performance as in fps with bf2 or how will it improve performance?

amd athlon 64 3400+.2ghz
1.5 gigs of ram(going to have 2 gigs soon)
ati radeon x1600 pro 512 mb pcie(getting low fps even though playing on medium settings even if played on low)
cant be over heating because have 2 fans blowing right on the card

You may not see more FPS, but what you get will be smoother. Also won't get that 30-60 secs of stuttering when you first join a map. When I only had 1 gig I couldn't Alt-Tab out of the game (actually I could but it would take 1-2 minutes before I could do anything), and with 1.5 gig I can no problem.

Another 512mb of ram may not do anything for you. You already run medium settings, and it is doubtfull your card would run high settings.

Low Settings - 1GB Ram
Med Settings - 1.5GB Ram
High Settings - 2GB Ram

go for the full slog and get 2gb of ram and it will play fine!

But it wont add FPS it will make your average FPS better!
