Honestly.... we wouldn't make the suggestion of buying an x800gto if there was a better option for you, nismojspec

The first link shows that the 6800 and the 6800xt are about the same, and the third link shows the x800gto owning the 6800
Do you have benches that prove the 6800xt is better than the x800gto, Indianscout?

edit2: another bench showing the 6800xt is pretty much at the same level as the 6800 vanilla: http://xtreview.com/review92.htm

do you have links Indianscout? Also could you explain how that 6800 is getting over 5000 in 3DMark05 when every other review I've seen has it around 4000?

                  Re: radeon vs. nvidia

I'm looking at the results for the 6800xt on ORB and the majority are around 4000 or below... Most of the x800gto range from 5000- mid 4000's

                    Re: radeon vs. nvidia

there are both 128 bit and 256 bit versions of the XT card, the 128 bit will of course do worse in gaming or benchmarks..

                      Re: radeon vs. nvidia

Here we have a stock x800gto

                      against an overclocked 6800xt

                      x800gto 5029
                      6800xt 4118

and that is the 256-bit version of the 6800xt. Both CPU's were AMD Athlon 64 @ 2.07 ghz, yet the 6800xt one had a higher CPU score. And still had a lower overall 3DMark score

I would bet that x800gto has all 16 pipes unlocked

                        here is a unlocked x800gto

                        3DMark Score: 5260 UNLOCKED TO 16 PIPES!

                          Re: radeon vs. nvidia

either way, I think we ought to trust reviews from real review sites over ORB scores. Orb scores do not tell you if SLI is enabled, clock frequencies are often read wrong, optimizations could be enabled, and just the general difference in hardware could make different scores.
So feel free to disregard my post with the ORB scores

But do you have any reviews from reviewing websites that show the 6800xt is better?

edit: A little note: all the reviews I posted used the 6800xt at 425mhz core/1000mhz (effective) mem with 256mb of memory and a 256-bit interface.

I'd install a new driver if I were you. That happened to me when I was using 84.21 (NVIDIA)
