    System recovery CD's

    hi, I had to reinstall windows, format my HD...

    I'm using system recovery CD's that came with my laptop, everything was going well, when I was asked to put the 2nd CD in, it was working but then stopped... some files could not be coppied...

    I took the CD out, and well, there's a weird bump on it!

    So now I'm stuck mid way!

    Question is, is there any chance I could get a replacement? Do companies do that?

          If you live in London, - I bought it from one of those tech shops in Tottenham court road...

              1. Is it manufactured by a certain company i.e. gateway, dell, compaq?
              2. Did it come with a warranty of some sort..?

                  Yeh, manufactured by Acer

                  the laptop came with a 1 year warranty but I've had it for nearly 2 years now so it's no use.

                  the thing is, the disk itself, it came fauly from the factory. It's a bad print or something. I've never used these disks before, it's the first time I took them out of their CD sleves.

                      Try to contact Acer and see if they can send you a replacement cd's since they were damaged prior to you opening the sleeves.

                          yeh, I've already sent them an e-mail. I'm still waiting for a reply regarding my laptop problems, it's taking a bit long, in my past experiance with the whole 'e-mail support' I never get any replies back :/

                                  With 50p/minute...? I've tried that already, was 17th in line for half an hour, now if they charge you while you're waiting in line... then that is a lot of money lol.
