AMD and ATI merge

This is going to be very intresting, Im not really and AMD fanboy, esp since I've never gone AMD, but I am however an ATI Fan. The outcomes of this Merge should be intresting

Let me guess, Intel is going to make a move towards Nvidia ?

What do you techies think ? :)

it had been rumoured for a while alright, i saw the official announcment on slashdot there the other day. its interesting to me because im a huge AMD and Nvidia fan but im really not an ATI fan at all (possiblly this is cause 2 radeon PCI-Ex's have blown up in my face almost injuring me :)) I've always found that AMD + nVidia chipset and nVidia graphics card work beautifully together. a perfect match i would even go on to say.

Intel + Nvidia, Intel + ATI and AMD + ATI are also a good matchs don't get me wrong, but i've noticed that combining Nvidia + ATI (ATI chipsets don't support many Nvidia graphics cards) is usually a disaster, so for me this is going to be weird being a huge nVidia fan.

before i built this current rig (see below) i actually went Intel + ATI to keep an open mind and i was greatly dissapointed with my results, so i quickly sold that rig and went back to AMD + nVidia. Now that AMD own ATI, we might start seeing horrible instances where AMD + Nvidia or Intel + ATI have become bad combinations in future products
