Need Some Advice :)

ok....i currently have 130 bucks im 14 and get 10 bucks a week for mowing lawns , i currently have an emachines with a gig of ram and a 9600 pro which i play battlefeild 2 on low and play bf2 on all high when i do lans with myself , lol , anyways. I was deciding should i wait for Christmas + Birthday , less then a month apart , to start my new rig :) , or should i take my computer i have now and take eveything in it , get a new PCI EXPRESS Mobo and a new case and a 7600 GT and play bf2 with 2700 speed memory . i think i should wait it out and get a high performance computer :)

Yeah. I'd wait--in November...or January (I think I just heard that somewhere) Windows Vista will ship; new graphics cards will be mainstream, and Intel's new chip will be in stock in all the major retailers. That would be the best time to build a top-of-the line "this" generation comp--as you said, a 7600gt and a fast dual-core athlon (if prices continue to fall) or a Conroe if they are marginally price-competitive.

Also, don't overlook the major manufacturers. You may be able to score a deal on a top of the line HP, just because it is still running XP beside other PC's that are sold with Vista pre-loaded.

If you can't wait, getting an agp x800xt, 6600 or 6800 would be the route to go, but it will be hard to find these new at any reasonable price.

yeah i will wait....might as well focus on school anyways :) , ill wait till Febraury or March to upgrade :)
