    Amd X2 3800+

because of the recent price drops i am going to get the X2 3800+, but have a question...

on newegg they are 170$ right now, but i wanted the energy efficient model which arent on shelves yet.

what is the difference between the two (except for obviously the energy consumption)? will i notice any difference between the two in performance? is it worth waiting and paying a little more for the energy efficient one?

The energy efficient one? Do you mean Intel Conroe? They are the only range of processors more energy efficient than the AMD AM2's. The reason for this is the Conroe uses 65nm process technology, while the AMD AM2 uses 90nm.
