Temperature question, SpeedFan

I just got a new computer, and so i downloaded SpeedFan to check the temperatures in it. But there's one problem, i cant figure out which is which of the temperature sensors. Can someone help me?

I'm guessing that the "Remote" sensor is the cpu, or the gpu. The HD0 is the harddrive, but i've got no clue about the rest of them. The bottom Temp1 (40 degrees) is always locked on 40 deg, and never moves. I'm guessing its either broken, not functioning or simply doesnt exist.

SMBus is

is a simple two-wire bus used for communication with low-bandwidth devices on a motherboard, especially power related chips such as a laptop's rechargeable battery subsystem (see Smart Battery Data). Other devices might include temperature sensors and lid switches.

The "Local" and the "Remote" temp sensors are both so-called SMBus. I dont know very much about that.

Can anyone help me with this? I would like to know which sensor belongs to what piece in the computer.

You're probably right about the Remote temp (F75383) being the video card, and add the Local tempo to it as well (both use the same chip). Best thing is to check the temp readings in the Nvidia control panel and compare.

As for the rest of them, the best thing to do is to take swing through the bios and make note of what temps are reported there. Then it is just a matter of matching the bios readings up with what Speedfan reports. The readings that are in Speedfan but not the bios will be what are known as phantom readings. What that means is that Speedfan gets its readings directly from the monitoring chip (SuperIO Chip=IT8712F) and not the bios and reports all temps that the chip supports, only thing is there is no sensor for that reading on the motherboard (and the bios is programmed to ignore the un-sensored readings). All you do is just uncheck those readings in the Config screen.

Also if you wish you can rename any (or all) of the valid readings by going to the Config screen, clicking on the one you want to change and simply hitting F2, and change the name to whatever you want.

Thanks for the help.

I found a link inside the program, where i could get setups made for my motherboard. The remote and local seems to be two different censors around the CPU. I'm still not sure of the rest, as there was serveral configs for my mobo. In any case, its good to see that none of them are rising alarmingly.
