    DVD Rom Drive

Okey need some advice i have a LG Eletronics DVD Rom Drive 16x/48x speed, and when i put in my bf2 disc it makes a cracking noise and then after 5 mins bf2 loads up and the disc runs normally, i used to have bf2 by itself but my dvd drive cracked the disc down the middle, so i had to go and buy bf2 Deluxe as it was on sale, and now it is doing the same again, i was wondering if it is a faulty dvd drive and should i go and get a new 1, if so what dvd rom drive would work, all my other games and dvds work fine its just bf2 seems to be the prob.

I suggest you go and get yourself Daemon tools and the mini Image for BF2. That way u dont need the original DVD in the drive to play. Its OK to do.
If u need more Info PM me.

Your DVD drive sounds a bit suspect. I have never heard of it happening before, but I've heard stranger things. Have you thought about using a DVD image so you dont have to have the DVD in the drive to play?

Here are some quick instructions on how to get and install a mini-image, if you dont already know

You firstly have to get a drive spoofing program, daemon tools is the best. Get it Here Download the DAEMON Tools 4.0.3 X86 9 (one at the top) and install it.

Go to Game copy world and select a mirror. Find the "For a Complete overview of ALL available Games check the [ Game Index ] " and find Battlefield 2. Now download the "Battlefield 2 [ALL] No-DVD/Fixed Image #2"

Uncompress the .rar file you got from game copy world and store it in a safe place. To mount it, look for the daemon tools in your application tray in the bottom right of your screen. Right click on the small icon and go to the top option "Virtual CD/DVD ROM" move over to device 0 and browse your computer to find the files you took out of the rar. It should then be mounted, the game should start with out the use of the DVD
