    Sound Problem

I am running an X-Fi Xtreme Music and recently after playing a few rounds my gun shot sounds do not load. I have to restart my computer and it dosn't help when if I restartd BF2 alone.

All other sounds work, even if I am in a jet, the cannon is loud and clear, but if I get out and shoot my gun all I hear is the shell drop.

I already updated my drivers and it still does the same.

    Bump

    Anyone?

Have you tried the latest drivers?

Also, your PCI bus might be getting choked.

It could be, that you configured it wrong in the console (i.e Headphones but you use a 5.1 speaker setup or viceversa) that happens to me sometimes.

            I have latest drivers

I have it set to headphones with headphones

I played today all day in game mode on Ultra High and it worked fine, but I don't like it on game mode.

Disable your EAX options in the Creative control panels.

You have to play games on game mode otherwise it wont work. IMO That is the reason you are having problems.

..and yes, don't expect BF2 to work in anything BUT Game Mode.

                    Re: Sound Problem

I have EAX off on Creative panel, and when I tried it before it was the same thing. I kept my settings on Hardware, and not till yesterday I tried the X-Fi setting on Game Mode.

Also, one of my team members said I was realy loud and he could hear himself and the battle. I was wearing headphones but no one else said anything. Microfone is muted in the CP but Ventrilo unmutes it on its self. Was he just unlucky?

Have you manually edited any of the sound .con files?

                        Re: Sound Problem

Nope, I also don't like Game Mode because some sounds are "crackly" like the arty or jet engine.
