    Long Live AGP!!

Geez, it seems like Nvidia just doesnt want to let go of AGP. This is good news for lots though, becuase now there is an agp 7 series card that doesnt cost $300

    We want PCI.

The last PCI card was a BFG/3dfuzion 6200... which I have.

I want a 7900gx2 pci... although the bus would be bottlenecked to such a degree.

      AGP 850 - 256 MB - 139 USD.

AGP isnt gonna get support for the G80 series cards. so AGP is not gonna live very long. its gonna die fro 7k series onwards.

Good news for people with AGP for now. But sooner or later the AGP market will die just like the PCI market. The 7600GS is about in line with a 6800GT/Ultra and X850.

I could upgrade my AGP 8x card with something that has more than 12 pipes and perhaps a little faster GPU and that is about it; I dont think it will impact the game very much because I run low to medium settings.

Me? Just a small 6800 from ASUS with a very large string of tech babble name starting with the Gamer Edition V9999 etc etc..I figure it is a very good card but can upgrade slightly before I leave AGP behind on the new build.

Yeah, despite what people said last year, AGP is still around, and is actually in a pretty nice price range for the budget gamer like me. I'm still running my old Socket A mobo with an AMD 3200+ XP, and I just bought a Connect3D x850 Pro VIVO 8x agp card, and it's running everything I throw at it very nicely.

The best part is that I was easily (read: almost effortlessly) able to flash it to x850XT speeds (520/540) and unlock the other four pipes (total 16) so I get more bang for my fairly small buck. And if I ever want to take it further, I can always flash it to a x850XT PE (540/590).

I figure it'll be another year, or maybe year and a half before AGP really begins to fade all together.
