So i am planing on getting a E6600 when they are available. But i dont quite understand the memory things i hear about matching the FSB. So does that mean that if the FSB is 1066 i should get DDR2 1066(PC2 8500). Or should i get DDR2 533(PC2 4200). Because i have read something about since once you go DDR, the 533 will double the rate and become 1066?? So does that mean that all i need is 533 and once it goes in DDR mode, it will be 1066 matching the FSB????? Thanks in advance.

It doesnt need to match the FSB, it all depends on how you run it.
The FSB is multiplied by your CPU multi, = Freq.
Lets say your FSB is 200 and you are running a 1:1 ratio on your ram.
THat means that for every increment the fsb is increased, the ram freq is increased.
Now, for the DDR2, I would suggest looking at some OCZ, or higher end sticks with tighter timings.
Good luck with your new system, and dont go cheap on the PSU. -

Yea just shows that value DDR2 is just about as good as the high speed DDR2 ram. You would be fine with the value ram at 667.Comment
