No seriously...theres no "have to get this" thing. First off..tell me the resolute you want to run on, refresh rate, FPS you want. Price range...AGP/PCIe preferred....bad question.:p

And NO..you do NOT need what is posted above...that is simply what he seems to be using.

Need: (in my opinion)
-2 GB of RAM
-7600+ graphics card (a 6800GT+ will probably do but hard to get ahold of now) or ATI equivalent
-CPU rated at 3 GHz+ (no need for dual core)

Ok, so I do have the ram. I have a 6600GT (128) , but a Venice 3800+. I just upgraded from a XP 2800+ running everything on low, but I can now run everything on medium and in 1280 I think.

Should I leave it alone, or can I move a couple things to high and which?

yeah your grafix card is killing ya...not sure if thats an agp card or PCIE but if its PCI express...get a eVga 7600GT , newegg.com , search it :)

It's an AGP, since upgrading and being able to run all medium is sweet, so I'm happy about that for now. I've been running on 100% view, but what could I tweak up to high now? Fraps is showing at least 30fps most of the time now. How much am I missing anyway?

I run mostly on high with my current system, see signature, but maybe if i got a 2nd gig of ram and a new Conroe, maybe just maybe ill be able to run high, but i dont know which to get, conroe or sli?

your system is a bit better than mine :p , so you only have to upgrade card, and since i think you use AGP i recomend either the ATI x800xt, X850xt or 6800gt ,ULTRA.

lol i wasnt recommeding ATI, my mistake ifi havent put Nvidia there, but the 6800 and x850 are really good, but if you want most powerfull AGP card then the 7800gs will do you good , but if you have PCI-e get the 7600gt FTW

I was just kidding, but I am Nvidia loyal. The 6800 is what I'd get, in some form of it. It's amazing how long I've been playing on low, and how bad it is.
