Average GPU Temp slowly rising

When i bought my Geforce 6200 (don't laugh, I only have a PCI slot lolz) the average temp on it was about 37 degrees. Over time, the average temp rises. Now it's been a few months and on the desktop it runs at 45 degrees. Is this normal?

It is if you don't take the card out occasionally and clean the dust out of the fan (same goes for everything else in the computer). Get enough dust in it and the fan will not even spin.

Well why didn't I realize that... so obvious. My computer is getting pretty dusty and loud. Thank you. :)

That will do it. Just grab a couple of these (or whatever you can find locally),



and blow it all out. If it is dusty enough you may want to take the computer outside to clean it. You can also hold a vacuum cleaner hose close (but not inside) to catch the dust. One thing to remember is to use something to stop the fans from spinning (a pencil works well), as the blast from those cans will cause the fan to overspin, and possibly damage it.
