    Upgrading a little bit

    How does this sound?

    Pentium D 3.0Ghz
    2 gigs DDR2
    2x 7600GT
    Creative x-fi xtrememusic

I really do not have that much money and im kinda on a tight budget so this was the best i could do.

Sounds good mate but why not one 7900GTX instead of two 7600 GT's? Would be more worthwhile IMO.

Its not really with it right now if you already have a P4 @ 3 GHz...If you are going to upgrade then go Conroe..But then youd have to swap out your Mobo for Conroe...

So I suggest save up a little more, Wait a little for Conroe and get that...Plus the Pentium D wouldnt really make that much of a difference in games then a P4 @ 3 GHz...If thats what your planning on using the improvement for

Or dont get the 930 or the 7600 GT and get a 7900GT/GTX

So why do you want to downgrade to two 7600 GT's?

Still better to get the 7900 GTX instead. I was half considering getting one instead of a second 7800 GTX but the 7800GTX's in SLI are near on unstoppable. The 7600's wouldn't fare so well against a 7900 GTX though.

Actually, this is going to sound really stupid, but my dad wont let me spent 300< on one card, so the 7900GTX and the 7800 are out of the question thats why i was just going to get a second card, and you were also right about the processor, im just going to wait for Conroe

Looks good but don't bother with the PD930. We have simmular setups you should be fine.

You'll most likely be needing a new motherboard also then...

the great thing is that my friend is going to buy my pentium 4 for $150 and then i all ready have enough for the conroe (extra money laying around), then my birthday is comin up so i will probably get enough for the motherboard from that

That's cool, by then most of the old 975 boards should be cleared out so you'll have less chance of accidentally getting one that doesn't support Conroe. If you're not going to do Crossfire you might want to consider a P965 based board (you could still toss in a 7950), they will be a bit cheaper than any of the 975 based boards and may have better performance (assuming what Intel is saying is correct).
